Seva is a Sanskrit word that means “selfless service” or “service to humanity.” In the Golden Age Movement of Sri Amma Bhagavan, seva is an essential aspect of spiritual growth, fulfillment, and a core part of supporting the vision of Sri Amma Bhagavan to end human suffering and usher in a new Golden Age.
There are many reasons to engage in selfless service—and many benefits that flow from it.
At times, we all face inner struggle—waves of emotion, negative thoughts, or a feeling of disconnection. Seva brings about feelings of calm, peace, and joy. Sri Amma has said:
“Fighting these thoughts and digging into them would land you in depression. Get going with your work and help your fellow humans.”
And Sri Bhagavan teaches:
“The easiest way to be happy is to help others.”
We all seek fulfillment—in our work, health, relationships, finances, and spiritual lives.
Sri Bhagavan says clearly:
“Fulfillment is possible only when you help others.”
On this spiritual path, you are seeking higher states of consciousness, enlightenment, and freedom from suffering. You pray, meditate, attend courses, and perform daily sadhanas (practices). But to truly grow, you must give.

As Sri Bhagavan states:
“Growth only happens through contribution. You need to give in order to receive.”
And
“The highest spiritual state is the state of service.”
Performing seva without expecting anything in return brings unexpected blessings. Because all is interconnected, every act of service creates ripples that extend outward, touching everyone and everything. When you step into seva, you initiate a flow of healing, miracles, and opportunities—for yourself and others. Problems are resolved. Your mental and physical health, relationships, finances, and spiritual growth all begin to flower.
“Those who give shall receive.” —Sri Bhagavan
There are simple but powerful ways to practice seva from your own home. Pray for those in need, pray for the world, and pray for others to be drawn to join this community. As you pray, visualize and feel the outcome you desire. Each day, do the Ananda Soma Sadhana and ask the Great Compassionate Light, Sri Amma Bhagavan, to transfer those states to three other people.

You can also carry this seva into the world by responding in the moment when you see someone in need. Prayer can be done at any time, in any place. Be sure that before leaving home, you have completed the Ananda Soma process so that you can transfer the states as you go about your day. If you find yourself slipping out of the state of Ananda, simply ask Sri Amma Bhagavan to restore you to it, so you may continue to help transfer the states to others.
You can practice seva while shopping, driving, out walking, or at work—remaining open to each moment in which a spontaneous opportunity to serve may arise. In every one of these instances, you can be praying, and transferring the states of ananda, causeless love, and oneness.
Whether you're sitting in a restaurant, walking through a store, standing in line for coffee, watching the news, or visiting a hospital or retirement home, you can offer silent prayers and ask the Great Compassionate Light to transfer the states of ananda, causeless love, and oneness. Be sure to attend the monthly Darshan with Sri Bhagavan to receive and maintain your activation to transfer these Divine states. Activation is transmitted during your first Darshan, and renewed each month through continued participation.

Speak about the Great Compassionate Light, the Golden Age Movement, and the 81,000 Deeksha Yajna program. Ask Sri Amma Bhagavan to make it easy—to bring the right people and situations to you, and to speak through you. You are an instrument of the Great Compassionate Light, Sri Amma Bhagavan. They need you to share with those around you how your life has changed. Sharing authentically touches the hearts of others who also are in need of inner and outer transformation and liberation from suffering.
Your personal prayers and desires can only be fulfilled if you have enough sat karma (good karma) in your spiritual bank account. When you perform seva for a noble cause, you earn extra sat karma. These are such simple ways to fill your spiritual account until it overflows. If you feel any blocks to doing seva, simply do the Ananda Soma process and ask that those blocks be dissolved.

If you seek transformation and miracles, you must be of service. As part of The Golden Age Movement, all are called to this path of seva. There is so much grace awaiting you when you serve a greater cause.
As Tejasaji has said: …”as people [are] involved in seva, they are experiencing greater states and greater miracles.”
By being of service, you become a living conduit for the Great Compassionate Light, Sri Amma Bhagavan to help fulfill the mission of ending human suffering… By serving this mission, you help elevate humanity’s consciousness and that will heal the world. Support the vision of Sri Amma Bhagavan—and watch as grace, miracles, and abundance flow into your life.
